John W. Ferguson — P.L.S. No. 49088 (Retired)

Photo of John W. FergusonJohn has been a licensed surveyor since 1974 and has been in private practice for 30 years with offices in both Fulton and Montgomery Counties (NY). Besides having worked for the Hudson River, Black River Regulating District which controls the Great Sacandaga Lake, John has also done a great many surveys in and around the Sacandaga Valley and is considered a local expert on the history of the valley before the creation of the lake.

John currently resides in the Northville area where he serves on the Town of Northampton Planning Board. He is a member of the New York State Association of Professional Land Surveyors and the Eastern New York Society of Land Surveyors.

Chris has worked in the surveying profession since 1985 and has been a licensed surveyor since 1993. He worked for John Ferguson from 1985 until November of 1994 when Chris started his owned business, continuing to share an office with John Ferguson on Wallins Corners Road in Amsterdam.

In 1998, Chris closed his business to take the position of deputy city engineer for the City of Johnstown, which he held until August, 2001, when he decided to return to the full time practice of land surveying. He established and ran the surveying department for Steven E. Smith, P.E. in Gloversville, NY. In April of 2005 the opportunity presented itself to re-associate with John Ferguson. The two surveyors formed the partnership of Ferguson & Foss and opened their current office in Johnstown.

Chris lives in Caroga Lake, NY, and has long been active in many community organizations.
